Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Prize for Literature and Literary Criticism

Applicants are hereby invited for The Nigeria Prize for Literature. The yearly literary prize is endowed by Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Limited to honour the author of the best book by a Nigerian within the last four years.
Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Prize for Literature and Literary Criticism

The prize rotates among four literary genres – prose fiction, poetry, drama and childrens literature. This year, the competition is for Children’s Literature.
The competition is open only to published works by Nigerian writers irrespective of thier place of residence. It carries a reward of $100,000.

Key Dates:Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Prize for Literature and Literary Criticism

The winner will normally be announced in October and will be presented to the public on a later date.
All entries must be in by 5th April, 2019. Late entries will not be entertained.

Submission Procedure:

  • Ten copies of the entry and, if available, an e-copy, together with evidence of Nigerian citizenship (photocopy of Nigerian passport or National identily card), may be submitted either by authors or publishers, in accordance with the genres in competition.
  • Books should be submitted to Nigeria LNG Limiteds External Relations Division, promoters of the prize, by the stipulated deadline. Failure to meet the stated conditions will lead to disqualification of the entry.
  • No book published before January, 2015 will be accepted. Complete contact information, including full contact address, email(s), phone number(s) and other relevant contact Information should accompany each submission.
  • An author will enter only one published work, Mere manuscripts will not be considered. No book previously submitted for this competition may be re-submitted at later date, even if major revisions have been made or a new edition published. The prize will be awarded for no other reason than excellence.
  • No members of the Advisory Board or Panel of judges can enter their work(s) for the award in the period in which they are serving and two years therafter. No entries will be entertained from members of NLNG Staff and their families

2018 CIPM Annual Essay Competition
It's another wonderful time here for essay competition for Nigerian Undergraduate students in the varsity,take your time and read more for full clarification.
 
The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria announces her 2018 Annual Essay Competition. 

The essay, which is ONLY for Nigerian Undergraduates, must be original, empirical and of local and international journal standard. Times New Roman and 12 points font type and size are not negotiable. The length of the essay must not exceed 3000 words with proper referencing using the APA style of referencing. All entries should be typed in double line spacing, using MS word ONLY. Plagiarism in all forms is prohibited and will attract outright disqualification of indicted entries.

TOPIC:
Employment Opportunities: Building from Nothing through Creative Solutions

1st Prize - N125,000.00 and 2 HRM books
2nd Prize - N100,000.00 and 2 HRM books
3rd Prize - N75,000.00 and 2 HRM books
• Employment opportunity/prospect for the first prize winner
• Free registration as student members of CIPM (for non-members) for all prize winners
• All expenses paid trip to the award day

METHOD OF PARTICIPATION

Young & Cerebral, a brand aimed at empowering, inspiring and giving a voice to the youth is declaring its annual Essay Competition for the year 2018 open. 

This year's topics are centered on the core belief of the Young & Cerebral brand; Personal Fulfillment through Self-Actualization.

The aim is to connect with and engage youths on issues of self-development, personal transformation & fulfilment, encourage and reward creative writing as well as promote Nigerian ideas and stories through writing. Our goal is to sustain a National Conversation about Creative Writing for Change. With that in mind, the following topics have been chosen 

>>Category 1 is open to all ages.

Topic
How will your raw idea change the world

The essay should not be more than 500 words.

Category 2 is open to people between the ages of 18 and 35 years 2. Write about a popular Nigerian that you consider self-actualized. The essay should not be more than 750 words. Prizes include Smartphones, Laptops and Writing courses. Winners will also have the opportunity to access Young & Cerebral resources for their growth and development.

Young & Cerebral started its Essay competition in 2013 and has received over 1,500 entries yearly across 18 states in Nigeria. 
This year's judges include:
 Adewale Yusuf, Joy Isi-Bewaji, Folawe Omikunle, Isabella Akinseye and our returning judges are Sally Kenneth Dadzie and Earl Okezie

Entries should be sent to essays@youngandcerebral.com in word format using Arial Typeface size 12, before 12 midnight of June 21st, 2018. Winners will be announced in the month of July 2018.
